[SWAT]
Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) is a specialized police unit that responds to high-risk situations. SWAT teams are trained to handle situations that are beyond the capabilities of regular police units.

TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT DIVISION [TED]
A "traffic enforcement division" is a specialized unit within a police department dedicated to enforcing traffic laws, which includes activities like patrolling roads to identify and cite drivers for violations like speeding, running red lights, improper lane changes, and other unsafe driving behaviors, often with the primary goal of improving road safety and reducing traffic accidents; essentially, they are "traffic police.".

INVESTIGATIONS BUREAU [CID]
An "Investigations Bureau" is a specialized unit within a law enforcement agency dedicated to conducting in-depth investigations into criminal cases, gathering evidence, analyzing information, and uncovering facts related to specific crimes, essentially acting as the detective branch of a police force; it can also refer to a specific department within a larger organization focused on investigating internal matters or misconduct.

RECRUIT TRAINING DIVISION [RTD]
RTD is responsible for training the newly promoted cadets and lateral transferred police officers. Field Training Officers are expected to be well seasoned and experience officers who can then pass their knowledge onto the future of the department.

Aiden Sato
The Los Santos Police Department is honored to announce the appointment of Aiden Sato as the new Chief of Police. With a career defined by service, discipline, and forward-thinking leadership, Chief Sato brings over 15 years of distinguished law enforcement experience to the department’s highest post. Chief Sato began his journey as a patrol officer and steadily rose through the ranks, serving as a SWAT commander before becoming Deputy Chief of Operations. Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated operational excellence and strategic foresight. He is widely respected for leading departmental reforms in pursuit protocol, training modernization, and internal accountability—initiatives that have strengthened both officer performance and public confidence in the LSPD. “Chief Sato represents the type of leadership this city needs: experienced, mission-driven, and rooted in service to the people, his vision reflects our department’s commitment to transparency, safety, and unity across all communities.” Chief Sato has also earned the trust of officers and community leaders alike through his open communication style, focus on officer wellness, and dedication to inclusive policing strategies. Under his leadership, the LSPD will continue its mission to serve with integrity, embrace innovation, and build stronger relationships with the people of Los Santos.
